Accessibility Statement for Arrival Shows

NOMI VENTURES LIMITED wants Arrival Shows to be usable by as many people as possible, including artists and visitors who use assistive technology or have visual, hearing, motor, cognitive, or other access needs.

Our commitment

We are working toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA across the public website, checkout hand-off, secure submission and correction flows, exhibitions, support forms, transactional emails, certificates, and exhibition PDFs.

We do not claim full conformance until the production service has completed automated and manual testing, including keyboard-only, screen-reader, zoom/reflow, contrast, focus, form-error, motion, target-size, and mobile testing.

What you should be able to do

Our intended standard is that you can:

• navigate using a keyboard or common assistive technology;
• zoom and reflow content without losing information or controls;
• read clear headings, labels, instructions, errors, and status messages;
• distinguish links, controls, focus, and important states without relying on colour alone;
• pause or avoid non-essential movement;
• upload, review, correct, and submit work without an inaccessible authentication puzzle;
• use meaningful text alternatives for public artwork images; and
• receive service emails in accessible HTML and plain text.

Known and anticipated limitations

The following areas require verification or remediation before a full conformance statement:

• Automatically generated exhibition PDFs and certificates may not yet have complete tagging, reading order, bookmarks, and meaningful alternative text for every work.
• The quality of artwork descriptions depends partly on text supplied by participating artists; editorial review may not identify every weak description.
• The enlarged-image viewer, secure correction flow, file uploader, date/deadline messages, and dynamic payment states require final keyboard, focus, status-message, and screen-reader testing.
• Third-party payment components may have limitations outside our direct code control. We will document verified issues and offer a support route rather than treating the provider as an exemption.
• HEIC files may not preview consistently in every browser before server conversion; the uploader must provide a clear text status and correction route.

We will update this list after each production accessibility audit, identifying affected pages, impact, available workarounds, and target remediation dates.

Alternative access and support

If you cannot access information or complete a submission, contact curator@arrivalshows.uk. Tell us:

• the page or task;
• what went wrong;
• the device, browser, and assistive technology, if you are comfortable sharing them; and
• the format or adjustment that would help.

Do not send full payment-card details. We acknowledge support requests automatically and aim to provide a human response within two UK business days. An accessibility support request does not automatically extend a published deadline, but we will consider service barriers fairly and in accordance with legal duties and statutory rights.

Technical approach

The implementation should use semantic HTML first, visible keyboard focus, programmatic names and descriptions, properly associated form errors, announced dynamic statuses, accessible authentication, sufficient colour contrast, responsive reflow, minimum target sizes, reduced-motion support, and tested text alternatives.

Documents and emails should be included in the same accessibility quality process as web pages.

Assessment and improvement plan

Our current improvement plan is to:

1. test representative public and secure journeys against WCAG 2.2 Level A and AA;
2. include disabled people and assistive-technology users in usability testing where practicable;
3. audit third-party checkout and email/PDF outputs;
4. fix critical and high-impact barriers before taking paid submissions;
5. publish the assessment method, date, scope, known issues, and remediation plan; and
6. retest after material design, provider, or workflow changes.

About this statement

This statement applies to https://arrivalshows.uk and the Arrival Shows secure submission, preview, and correction journeys. It does not yet make a WCAG conformance claim.
