Who can apply?
Artists, photographers, and artist collectives aged 18 or over can apply from anywhere in the world. Emerging, established, self-taught, and formally trained practitioners are all eligible.
Is the open call juried?
There is no subjective artistic selection. Complete, valid submissions are accepted in payment order while capacity remains. Staff review is limited to possible rights, safety, or content-policy issues.
Can a collective apply?
Yes. A collective can apply under one display name. The person submitting must be 18 or over and authorised to accept the terms and grant the necessary permissions for the collective.
Can I enter more than one open call?
Yes. You may submit one application to each package—group, solo, and photography—in the same month. You cannot submit two applications to the same package for the same month.
Is AI-generated artwork allowed?
Yes. AI-generated artwork is permitted and disclosure is not required. You must still have the rights and permissions needed to submit and exhibit the work, and it must comply with the content rules.
Is artistic nudity allowed?
Yes. Artistic nudity is permitted. Illegal or exploitative material, sexual content involving minors, hate content, credible threats, targeted harassment, and material infringing third-party rights are prohibited.
What does every package include?
Every package includes a full-calendar-month online exhibition, an artist biography or profile, artwork information and enlarged images, private forwarding of visitor sales enquiries, a digital participation certificate, and a post-exhibition PDF.
Are prices VAT-inclusive?
Yes. Every advertised Arrival Shows price includes VAT. The total shown at Stripe checkout is the total charged.
Will I receive a VAT receipt?
Yes. Your receipt records NOMI VENTURES LIMITED as the operator, VAT number GB 517 9335 71, the net amount, VAT amount, total paid, currency, payment date, and submission reference.
Which currency is used?
Checkout is in GBP. Your bank or card provider may convert the payment and charge its own currency-conversion fee.
I am outside the UK. How is VAT handled?
The VAT treatment and total are shown before payment. International VAT can depend on the customer and supply. If you believe the treatment on your receipt is wrong, contact support with your reference and country; do not email tax or identity documents unless requested through a secure route.
What happens if my payment fails?
Use the secure retry link in the failed-payment email. A failed payment does not reserve a place, and availability may change before you retry.
When is my place reserved?
Your place is reserved only after payment succeeds and your submission is complete and valid. Starting a form or attempting payment does not hold a place.
Can support take my card details?
No. Never send full card details by email. Payments and retries are completed only through secure Stripe checkout.
Do I need an account?
No. Arrival Shows uses personal secure links instead of artist accounts or dashboards. Use the email address entered at checkout and keep your links private.
I lost my secure link. How do I get another one?
Use the secure-link recovery form above with the email address used at checkout. If an active submission matches, we send a new single-use link without revealing whether the address exists in our records. If it does not arrive, email curator@arrivalshows.uk and include your submission reference.
Can I share my secure link?
No. The link provides access to your submission or preview. Do not forward or publish it. If you think someone else has used it, contact support for a replacement.
What happens if I pay but do not finish?
We send reminders before the deadline. An incomplete paid submission transfers to the following month once. If it remains incomplete at that next deadline, we cancel it and issue a full refund, including VAT and paid add-ons.
Which image formats are accepted?
Upload JPEG, PNG, WebP, or HEIC files. Portrait, landscape, and square images are accepted, with one principal display image for each artwork.
What are the image requirements?
Each image can be up to 20 MB and must be at least 2,000 pixels on its longest edge.
Why was my image rejected?
The file may be unsupported, corrupt, larger than 20 MB, or smaller than 2,000 pixels on its longest edge. Export a fresh supported file from the original image and try again.
Will Arrival Shows change my image?
The system may validate, convert, resize, and optimise an image for reliable web display. It does not intentionally change the artwork. Check every processed image in your private preview and replace it before the correction deadline if anything appears wrong.
What should image description text contain?
Describe the visibly important composition, subject, colour, and spatial relationships so someone who cannot see the work can understand it. Do not repeat the title, invent an interpretation, or begin with ‘image of’.
Do you accept video or audio?
No. Only still images are accepted at launch.
When do open calls close?
At 11:59 pm on the 25th, Europe/London, unless the package sells out earlier.
When will I receive my exhibition preview?
We email a private preview through a secure link on the 26th.
What can I correct?
During the correction period, you may replace images and edit text. Changes must remain within the artwork allowance you already paid for. Additional works require the relevant payment before the correction deadline.
When is the correction deadline?
Corrections close at 11:59 pm on the 27th, Europe/London. Content locks for publication on the 28th.
Can I request a change after the deadline?
Contact support immediately if the content creates a rights, privacy, safety, or serious factual problem. Routine late edits are not guaranteed once content has locked, and statutory rights are not affected.
When is my submission accepted?
A complete submission is accepted automatically when payment, form, and image checks pass and capacity remains. A submission flagged for a possible rights, safety, or content-policy issue may require staff review.
Why is my submission under review?
A check may have identified a possible rights, permissions, safety, or content-rule issue. This is not a judgement of artistic quality. We may ask for clarification, confirmation, or a replacement image.
Can I cancel?
If you cancel before the monthly open-call deadline, you receive a full refund including VAT and artwork add-ons. After the deadline there is no discretionary change-of-mind refund, but statutory rights continue to apply.
Can I transfer my entry to another month?
Artist-requested transfers are not generally offered. A paid submission that is incomplete at the deadline transfers automatically once. If Arrival Shows cancels an exhibition, you may choose a full refund or transfer to the following month.
What happens if I still do not complete a transferred submission?
If the submission remains incomplete at the following month’s deadline, we cancel it and issue a full refund, including VAT and paid artwork add-ons. A second transfer is not offered.
What happens if my submission is rejected?
A submission rejected before publication receives a full refund, including VAT and paid artwork add-ons. We explain the outcome by email.
How are refunds paid?
Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method. We confirm when the refund is issued; your bank or payment provider controls how long it takes to appear. We do not reimburse separate currency-conversion or international-transaction fees that Arrival Shows did not receive.
What happens if Arrival Shows cancels an exhibition?
You may choose a full refund, including VAT and paid artwork add-ons, or transfer the same package and allowance to the following month. We email a secure route for recording your choice.
How long is my exhibition online?
For the full relevant calendar month, from 12:00 am on the first day until 11:59 pm on the final day, Europe/London.
Are past exhibitions archived publicly?
No. Public exhibitions are removed when their month ends and are not maintained as a permanent online archive.
Can visitors buy my work through Arrival Shows?
No. Sales are enquiry-only. We forward the visitor’s details privately to you, with Arrival Gallery copied. You handle the sale directly and Arrival Shows takes no commission.
Is my email address public?
No. Your email address is not displayed on the public exhibition or artist profile.
How can I show an artwork’s availability?
Provide a public GBP price, choose Price on request, mark the work Not for sale, or mark it Sold.
When do I receive my certificate and PDF?
They are emailed after the exhibition closes. Group and photography participants receive the relevant complete exhibition PDF; solo artists receive a personal solo-exhibition PDF.
What if my certificate or PDF does not arrive?
Check spam and junk folders, then contact support with your submission reference. PDFs are retained temporarily for generation, delivery, and necessary retries; they are not permanently hosted as a public archive.
